it's been aged since i went to ik3a...
last time when me&mr.R were just married, maybe January 2008...
when i asked mr.R to go to ik3a again, he doesn't want as it will take an hour to reach there!
finally mr.R agreed as we've had enough with Alam4nda, Warta, PKNS Bangi, Tesco Kajang, Jusco Seri Kembangan, Jusco Sungai LOng...
with one condition, not go on weekend :p
so, when we're on leave on Friday due to raina was infected with conjunctivitis, off we go!

SHAKEN BABY SYNDROME (SBS)

saya tidak akan lambung raina & bayi lain dan saya akan enjut buai raina perlahan-lahan, promise to myself!!!

Pesakit terakhir yang kami ‘tidurkan’ ialah bayi berusia 4 bulan.

Bayi tersebut telah disyaki mendapat sawan pada pukul 2 petang tadi. Beliau sebelum ini sihat dan dijaga oleh pengasuh. Beliau tidak demam dan tidak batuk serta tidak mempunyai simptom-simptom yang lain. Itulah kali pertama beliau mendapat sawan.

Sesampai di resus room (red zone), beliau masih lagi kelihatan mengantuk dan kurang responsif. Beliau kelihatan pucat dan apa yang menakutkan kami ialah ubun-ubun depan beliau yang timbul dan mencembung ( bulging ). Memandangkan beliau tidak demam dan ujian menunjukkan beliau kurang darah (Hb 8g/dl), serta bayi tersebut masih kurang responsif selepas satu jam sawan, kami mengambil keputusan untuk melakukan Brain CT Scan.

Scan otak menunjukkan beliau mengalami pendarahan otak yang serius, Acute and Chronic Subdural Bleed with Subarachnoid bleed! Terkejut! Kali ini ibu bayi tersebut telah pun selamat tiba dari pejabatnya. Saya bertanyakan lagi sejarah kesihatan bayi tersebut. Satu-satunya cerita atau sejarah yang relevan ialah pengasuh bayi tersebut suka menimangnya tinggi-tinggi. Bayi itu dikatakan sangat suka ditimang.

SHAKEN BABY SYNDROME (SBS)

SBS merupakan kecederaan otak bayi disebabkan goncangan atau pergerakan kepala yang kuat. Boleh berlaku dalam tempoh sesingkat 5 saat pergerakan yang kuat. Kecederaan yang serius boleh menyebabkan kecacatan otak yang lama, serius dan kekal pada bayi. Ianya berlaku apabila kepala bayi digoncang atau dihentak dengan objek walaupun objek lembut seperti bantal. Ada teori mengaitkan dengan pergerakan seperti menimang bayi, menaiki buaian serta memegang bayi ketika seseorang sedang marah atau bergaduh boleh menyebab berlakunya SBS. Sebab lain ialah penderaan bayi (child abuse) dan selalunya mempunyai kesan-kesan penderaan yang lain.

Perkara ini berlaku kerana kepala bayi mempunyai nisbah yang lebih besar berbanding badan mereka, leher yang lemah dan struktur otak yang masih belum matang serta lebih kandungan air berbanding orang dewasa.

Amalan menimang atau menggoncang sering dilakukan oleh penjaga terutama bila bayi tidak mahu berhenti menangis. Ada yang menimang bayi kerana untuk menenangkan bayi dan ada juga melakukannya ketika marah atau penat menjaga bayi.

Ini bukanlah kes SBS pertama yang saya rawat. Sebelum ini saya juga pernah merawat seorang bayi di wad kanak-kanak yang mempunyai kecederaan otak yang serius dikhuatiri berpunca daripada menaiki buaian.

PENCEGAHAN

1. Jangan sesekali menggoncang bayi anda ketika marah atau untuk bermain.

2. Jangan memegang bayi anda ketika marah.

3. Jikalau anda tidak dapat menenangkan bayi anda, lebih baik anda tinggalkan bayi anda untuk sementara waktu di dalam katil bayi atau kepada orang lain.

4. Minta bantuan orang lain.

Maka, saya sangat berharap agar ibu bapa dan penjaga semua dapat mengambil serius dan peka tentang Shaken Baby Syndrome ini. Ianya bukanlah kes terpencil malah di Amerika Syarikat sebanyak 1500 kes dilaporkan setiap tahun. Mereka juga telah mengharamkan sebarang bentuk alat menggoncang bayi seperti buaian.

well, today i'm stucked at my home and don't go to the office!
why??? raina saket mata!!! a.k.a CONJUNCTIVITIS!

for your info, my parent, all my sisters (except Hasnah) and abang long currently MC's bcoz of conjunctivitis that were infected from little haneen (my eldest sister's daughter)...
so i'm worried if raina also infected from them bcoz mr.R met my parent last saturday!
my eldest sis already took 2-weeks leave!!
1st week take care of haneen and the following week, haneen dah baik dan die&suami pulak sakit mata...

we brought raina to the clinic...
i asked doc for mc..
yelaa anak sakit, mak kene jaga... patutnye mak dapat MC kan? :p huhuh doktor tak bagi!
doc said, there's a lot of people infected with conjunctivitis especially now, after haze!
and doc prescribed antibiotic ointment or drops to use on raina's eyes...
is it possible 8-months old baby use this prescription?

it is not easy to spend Quality time together...
so, we decided to go to Ikea heheh
raina je sakit, parent die ok :)

today went to Ampang Point to get some punjab clothing but as usual, bought raina's clothing as Brand Outlet had discount! berpinor mata sampai mr.R jeling2!

oso, bought all this recipes book except Senangnya Memasak Kambing (i don't eat lamb except their famous sup tulang sumsum kambing @ Singapore when us balik kampung... ooo terliur jap!)...
OMG, all this recipes really helping me!!!
show step-by-step prepare and cook the dishes, also the ingredients...
and now, macam everyday i will cook even simple dishes!
today, sawi goreng and sambal ikan bilis - of course laa not from this book :)
yesterday, spinach soup and ayam masak madu - 1st time trying with help from Chef Hanieliza (author of this great books) and wallaaa, sedapnye!!! apekah?? puji masakan sendiri?
the day before, bla... bla... bla...

OMG, this book is awesome...
i read it for a nite only...
true story about he did burger business, failed with huge debt...
then he went to Indonesia, met successfull businessman, Pak Kiai...
Pak Kiai gave him tips plus money to settle his debts...
set his burger business back but with different approach...
and alhamdulillah, now he help others with culinary-courses at his own institute...
i remember one of my mom's friend, she was one of Celcom manager with salary above 10k but decided to resign bcoz of want to focused on her children...
she attended chef li's course in order to be SAHM and now, her income is same like her previous salary but now, she will have more time with her children...

melalut lak...
yesterday, raina was turned to 8 months age...
so we take her to usual check-up...
OMG raina only weighs 7 kg???
despite of her 3 x heavy meals and 1 x snack time daily, she only gained a little...
i know that she will not weighed more than 10 kg bcoz of her small size compared to other babies at nursery but only gained 500 gm for 2 months???
or is it means that i've to increase raina's food...
or maybe bcoz raina is too active? ke sana laa ke sini laa...
anyway, mr.R give advice to raina, "jangan aktif sangat ye raina"
how come raina will listen??? :P

to my dear daughter...

8 months of pride and proud...
8 months of sweat and tears...
8 months of chuckle and giggle...
8 months of laugh and smile...
8 months of breastfeeding...
8 months of exhausted and happiness...

bcoz of the difficulty to give raina solid food, i decided to buy raina high chair...
normally i will swaddle her and place her on top of cushion...
i worry if she will choking bcoz of the lie down position...
and most of the times she will kicks her leg so she will be in higher position...
or she will turns her face and body to right and left side to release her from swaddle...
and sometimes the spoon and porridge will fly everywhere too...

abah tak bagi

sometimes i will wait at the my office lobby waiting for mr.R to fetch me!
there's a little girl that always waiting her father also...
she's with her mom but her mom always with her son who was just learn to walk!
so get what i mean?
she's always left behind, bcoz already dependent to care about herself...
sometimes she play with her friend or run around that place or sit at the sofa...
her mom to me, quite vogue for mom with 2-kids, so that girl always with the good dress and hairstyle...

at first, this little girl is nobody to me...
means that there are many kids at that place at same time...
and i play with raina or my friend's kid...
but now, when i see her, i will smile at myself...
bcoz, i already have 2 direct conversation with her that always memorized me every time i saw her...

i eating pear while waiting at the lobby...
makan sungguh2, very hungry bcoz don't have lunch that day...
that little girl came, hulur tangan and say, nak sikit...
OMG pear tu dah tinggal sikit je sampai nampak biji...
and then her mom came and say, nanti mama beli and pull her hand along...
i was like, OMG pity her, why she doesn't ask when that pear still rupa buah lagi...

me&nida (my friend) were playing with raina...
she came and said, baby... baby... and agah2 raina...
we asked her name (forgot!), her age (4 years) and her brother's age (2 years)...
her expression is so excited looking at raina, raina also giggled and laughed ade orang layan die...
then, i asked, mintalah mama adik lagi...
and guess what! she replied, abah tak bagi...
OMG, very honest!!! we tot that the answer when she asked her parent about nak adik lagi!
heheh, so now everytime me&nida saw her, we see each other and said, abah tak bagi :)

raina now start to crawl but at the same place...
is that can be assume as crawling also??
heheh she's not start moving forward yet, going to!!
excited mommy but at the same time, worried bcoz she will gonna start to pick something when i'm away for a while or at kitchen...
not staying on comforter @ toto...
even i make fortress with cushion and pillows around the toto but she still can sneak out between them..
